These terms are the licence agreement for the Wordmi AI mobile app. They explain what you can expect from the app, what we expect from you, and how Premium subscriptions bought through the App Store work.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
The Wordmi AI app (the App) is operated by Murathan Bakti as an individual (we, us). Contact: contact@wordmi.com. Further identity details are on the Legal Notice page.
These terms apply to the App and the account you use in it. The website and the early-access list have their own Terms of Use. How we handle personal data is described in the App Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.
2. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using the App you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the App. You must be at least 13 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher age for agreeing to online services on your own, you need a parent or guardian's permission until you reach it.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account; tell us at contact@wordmi.com if you think someone else has used it.
- An account is for one person. Do not share it, sell it or create accounts for someone else without their knowledge.
4. The service
The App lets you collect words, study them with spaced repetition and games, and practise with AI features. Studying your words is free. Premium adds further AI features, such as the AI coach chat and the progress report, and a larger AI allowance; what each plan includes is shown in the App before you buy.
We keep improving the App, so features may be added, changed or removed. We will not take away a paid feature during a period you have already paid for without offering a reasonable alternative or telling you how to obtain a refund through the store. The browser extension is optional and has its own privacy policy.
5. AI-generated content
Many parts of the App (the coach, practice sets, reports, word meanings, example sentences, the daily dialogue and pronunciation tips) are generated automatically by third-party AI models. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or inappropriate, and it may sound confident while being wrong. It is learning help, not professional, medical, legal or financial advice. Check anything important against a reliable source before you rely on it.
Do not enter sensitive personal data into the coach chat (see the App Privacy Policy). You are responsible for how you use what the AI produces.
6. Your content
The words, sentences and messages you add remain yours. You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, copy, process and display them only as needed to run the App for you, including sending them to the providers listed in the App Privacy Policy. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that have already left as part of normal operation (for example, an AI answer in a shared cache).
Your display name, level and score appear on the leaderboard, so choose a display name that does not infringe anyone's rights and is not offensive. We may change a display name or remove a profile picture that breaks these terms.
7. Acceptable use
You may not:
- use the App for anything unlawful, or to harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
- upload content you have no right to share, or content that is hateful, sexually explicit or violent;
- try to get around the usage limits, the subscription or the security measures, for example by creating multiple accounts or automating requests;
- copy, scrape, resell or build a competing product from the App, its word lists or its AI output;
- reverse engineer, decompile or modify the App, except where the law expressly allows it;
- use the AI features to generate content unrelated to language learning in bulk, or in a way that overloads the service.
If you find a security flaw, please report it to contact@wordmi.com rather than exploiting it. We will not pursue legal action over vulnerabilities reported in good faith.
8. Premium subscriptions through the App Store
The paid plan, shown in the App as Premium, is an auto-renewable subscription sold in the App Store as Wordmi Monthly and Wordmi Yearly, billed monthly or yearly. The price and the length of each period are shown in the App and on the App Store before you confirm, in your local currency.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically for the same period and at the same price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) at any time after purchase. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Free trial: a new subscriber may get a free trial; its length and the price that follows it are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts into a paid subscription. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its own policies; we cannot issue them ourselves. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. This does not limit any refund right that mandatory consumer law gives you.
- Price changes are made through Apple, which tells you in advance and asks for your agreement where the law or its rules require it.
- Restoring purchases: if you reinstall the App or use a new device with the same Apple ID, use “Restore purchases” on the subscription screen.
- Deleting the App or your Wordmi account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
Premium belongs to the Wordmi account that bought it while signed in. It cannot be transferred to another account, exchanged for money or resold.
9. Weekly AI allowance
The AI features cost us money every time they run, so they draw on a weekly fair-use allowance that resets every Monday at 00:00 UTC. The free plan has a smaller allowance and Premium a much larger one; Premium is not unlimited. The App shows how much of the allowance you have used. Some features also have a daily limit, such as the number of pronunciation checks.
When the allowance runs low, some AI features switch to a simpler version (for example, your device's own voice instead of the studio voice) or pause until the next reset. Studying your words is never limited. The allowance has no cash value and does not carry over to the next week. We may adjust the allowances to keep the service sustainable; if a change materially reduces what Premium includes, we will tell you in advance.
10. Deleting your account and ending the agreement
You can stop using the App at any time and delete your account in the App under Profile → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent and cannot be undone; what is deleted is described in the App Privacy Policy. It does not cancel an App Store subscription (see section 8).
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires it. Where it is reasonable we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we stop offering the App altogether, we will tell you in advance.
11. Licence and intellectual property
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own non-commercial language learning, on Apple-branded devices that you own or control and as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. The App may also be used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing where the store allows it.
The App, its design, its text, its word lists, the mascot and the “wordmi” name and logo belong to Murathan Bakti. Some example sentences and dictionary data come from openly licensed sources such as Tatoeba and Wiktionary and remain under their own licences. Netflix, YouTube and other brand names are used only descriptively; Wordmi is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
12. No warranty
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. We give no express or implied warranty that it will run uninterrupted, error-free, or fit any particular purpose, or that the AI output will be correct. This does not affect rights consumer law gives you that cannot be excluded by contract.
13. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, lost profits or lost data arising from your use of the App.
That limitation never covers: damage caused by intent or gross negligence, death or personal injury, liability under data protection law, or mandatory consumer protections.
14. Terms required by Apple
If you downloaded the App from Apple's App Store, the following also applies:
- This agreement is between you and Murathan Bakti only, not with Apple Inc. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Your licence is limited to using the App on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide maintenance or support for the App. Support is provided by us at contact@wordmi.com.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App; any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that the App or your possession and use of it infringes that party's intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the App, such as your mobile data agreement.
- Questions, complaints or claims about the App go to us: Murathan Bakti, contact@wordmi.com.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this agreement, and once you accept it Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce it against you as a third-party beneficiary.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. If a change is material we will tell you in the App or by email before it takes effect. If you do not accept the change, you can delete your account and cancel your subscription; continuing to use the App after the change takes effect means you accept it.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Turkish law, and the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction.
17. Everything else
- If one provision turns out to be invalid, the rest stay in force.
- Not enforcing a right immediately does not mean we have waived it.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else. We may transfer the App and this agreement to a successor who continues the service, and will tell you if we do.
18. Contact
