Each piece picks up where the last one stopped: the sentence gives context to the word, the word becomes practice, and practice sets the review schedule.

You can study on the days you don't watch
Wordmi no longer only collects words from subtitles. It now has ready-made words at your level, listening and speaking practice, a pronunciation report and lock-screen widgets. The corner of each card says where that feature runs.

Discover: ready-made words at your level
You can start without watching anything. Wordmi suggests words from your level and the one above, each with an example sentence; you tap “Add” or skip it with “I know this”. A word you know is never suggested again, and as those pile up the suggestions move up a level.

Add your own word by hand
Type in a word or phrase you met in a book, at work or on the street. Leave the meaning empty and Wordmi fills it in; add an example sentence and the writing and listening modes open for that word too.

Listen, speak, shadow
Three modes join the original four: Listening, where you type what you hear; Speaking, where you say the word aloud; and Shadowing, where you repeat after a natural voice and play your recording back next to it.

AI Arena: a ranked mixed test
Each set is generated from your weakest words and mixes writing, multiple-choice, listening and speaking questions. Only Arena answers move your skill rating and your place on the leaderboard. It is open on the free plan too.

Pronunciation report and sound mastery
Read a sentence aloud and Wordmi scores accuracy, fluency, completeness and rhythm, and shows which word and which sound tripped you up. The sounds you confuse collect on a map, and drills are built from exactly those. The rhythm score is English-only for now.

Today's dialogue
A new two-voice conversation every day, for the language you're learning and your level. First you listen, then you answer three comprehension questions, and finally you voice one of the roles yourself. It doesn't use your weekly AI allowance.

A typo isn't forgetting
Swapping two letters in a fill-the-blank answer doesn't wipe the word's history: Wordmi tells a spelling slip from a meaning error. If you typed a different real word, that one counts as wrong.

A different sentence on every review
A word isn't always asked with the same subtitle line. Your own sentence always comes first; on later reviews the word shows up in other sentences picked for your interests. That way you learn the word, not the sentence.

Chat with the tutor
Ask the tutor questions in your own language; when it needs to, it looks at your weak words, the pairs you mix up and the sentences you asked about before answering. You add words from its reply to your vault in one tap, and your chats stay saved.

A measured level and a leaderboard
After twenty ranked answers your skill rating settles on a level between A1 and C2, and it moves up or down with your answers. The leaderboard runs in three scopes: everyone, people learning the same language, and people who speak your native language.

Your own word on the lock screen
On iOS, lock-screen and home-screen widgets show one of your words, its meaning and the sentence it came from, next to your due count and your streak. Tap the widget and that word opens.

Go back to the scene
Press “watch the scene” on a card or in your word list and the video reopens at the second you saved that word. It works on Netflix and on YouTube alike.

- Sign-up takes a minute
- Create an account with Google or with an email and password, then pick your own language and the one you're learning. Level, daily goal and interests are optional, and all of them can be changed later.
- Email confirmation and password reset
- Sign up by email and you get a 6-digit code and a link; either one confirms your account. Forget your password and you set a new one the same way, with a code.
- A verification code on a new device
- Sign in with email and password from a device we don't recognise and a 6-digit code goes to your inbox; no session opens until the code checks out. A device you trust doesn't ask again on every sign-in.
- Learning preferences
- Set your level (A1–C2), your daily goal (5, 10, 20 or 30 words), your interests and why you're learning: films and series, travel, work, an exam, school, moving abroad. You pick up to three reasons, and the tutor plans around them.
- One account, two apps
- Your words and review history sync between the extension and the mobile app. Every change is written to the device first; you keep practising offline and it is sent once you're back online.
- My words
- Search your words, filter them by source (while watching, Discover, AI tutor, manual), fix a meaning or delete an entry. The extension exports the list as a file.

The tutor runs on your data: how many attempts a word took, which sentence you asked about, what you keep confusing with what. Try the cards on the right.

The tutor isn't a general chatbot. It reads how many attempts each word took, which sentences you asked about and which word you keep mixing up with which — and builds the question from that.

Arena questions don't come from a ready-made bank; every set is generated from your weakest words, and in the app it mixes writing, multiple choice, listening and speaking. Your answer moves both the word's review date and your skill rating.
One grade at the end of the week
It measures what stuck, not how many minutes you sat there. The report comes weekly and monthly; its letter grade, A to E, is computed from data — it isn't a model's opinion.

On YouTube it works on the regular watch page; Shorts, players embedded on other sites and YouTube Music are out of scope. A video with no subtitles at all has nothing to show. Auto-generated captions arrive without punctuation, so sentence explanations are less precise there than with hand-written subtitles.

The Arena, the pronunciation report, tutor chat and the report card draw on a weekly AI allowance; it resets every Monday and is much larger on Premium. The practice modes, Discover, widgets and today's dialogue don't use it. A request that fails goes back into your allowance.
The subscription is bought in the mobile app and unlocks the extension on the same account. Purchases go live when the iOS app opens in the store. The store shows the exact price in your own currency.

01Is it free?
Daily practice is free: dual subtitles, collecting words, every practice mode, Discover, the AI Arena, pronunciation scoring and today's dialogue are all on the free plan. Premium unlocks two things — chat with the AI tutor and the report card — and adds a much larger weekly AI allowance.
02How do I get Premium?
It is a monthly or yearly subscription bought in the mobile app; the yearly plan has a 7-day free trial. It unlocks by itself in the browser extension when you sign in with the same account. Purchases go live when the iOS app opens in the store.
03What is the weekly AI allowance?
The Arena, the pronunciation report, tutor chat and the report card run an AI model; those draw on a weekly allowance that resets every Monday. The practice modes, Discover, widgets and today's dialogue don't use it. A request that fails goes back into your allowance.
04Which languages can I learn?
Twelve: English, Turkish, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic. You choose your own language from the same twelve. For the dual subtitle lines themselves you can use any subtitle language the platform offers.
05Can I use it without watching shows?
Yes. The mobile app works on its own: Discover suggests ready-made words at your level, and you can add your own by hand. The browser extension is just one of the places words come from.

08Does it work on every YouTube video?
On every video that has subtitles, auto-generated ones included. If the video has none in your language, the bottom line comes from YouTube's automatic translation. A video with no subtitles at all has nothing to show, and Shorts and players embedded on other sites are out of scope.
09Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The mobile app uses the same account: the words you collect with the extension tonight meet you on the bus tomorrow. Listening, speaking, the pronunciation report and widgets are phone-only.
10When does it launch?
The extension is in store review and the iOS app is in closed testing. Everyone on the list is invited in the first wave at launch.
